You've survived Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now take a deep breath and give your best on Giving Tuesday. We have some great charities that provide for our less fortunate neighbors. There's the Ruby Valley Woodbank - please contact our Reverend Janis Hansen to make a donation. In Dillon, the Women's Resource Center supports victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Please click here for information on how to make a contribution. Note, the website also has a wishlist. To make a donation to the Ruby Valley Food Pantry, please contact New Beginnings Church at 842-5845. Cash donations are also made to the food pantry. Those funds are used to purchase vouchers at the local grocery store so families can get milk, eggs and fresh produce. Cash donations are also used to purchase food supplies for the pantry when needed. Start your Christmas season with the gift the give both ways - you'll feel great too!
The congregation of Christ Church sends their prayers of support and comfort to the family of Thelma Baril. Thelma passed away last Wednesday, two weeks after her 100th birthday. She will be remembered for her grace and caring, and a blessing to so many. She was a loving person whose life reflected her love of God and family.
The service for Thelma will be held on Tuesday, November 24th at the Dayspring Church at 2pm. For more information on Thelma's life, please click here.
We are pleased to report that Ashley & Nick have arrived safely at their new home in Maine! Wishing them all the best in their new home. We hope that the locals soon find that they have been blessed with a fantastic new addition to their community!
Just in case you haven't subscribed to the Recipe Blog and wanted a copy of the Tortilla Egg Casserole recipe, it's on the recipe web page now. Bon appetit!!
I was getting the link for Lent Madness for an Episcopal newbie and found they've already released the brackets for the 2016 Lent Madness contest! Lent doesn't start until February 11! But this gives you loads of time to read up on the contestants and change your mind about your picks a dozen times. Here's the link for the Lent Madness website. If you just want the brackets, click here.
Who knew that historical, religious education could be so much fun?!
We'll also have some wine and beer. Please feel free to bring your preferred libation (no hard alcohol, please). As for the potluck, anything goes - hot dish, salad, dessert, munchies, whatever fluffs your marshmallow.
We're also asking for your favorite Nick and/or Ashley story. If you have a 4x6" photo (or photos), Nick and Ashley would love a copy.
It will be a memorable evening!! Don't miss it!
